How to be Hired For Your Next Job

According to statistics, young professionals of today have more career changes than the previous generations. As a matter of fact, most millennials have had four changes in their career by the time they’re 32. Aside from that, about 60% of professionals aged between 21 and 37 are open to the idea of making a career change at the very moment.

If you are looking for a job, or planning on another one, here are some ways for you to get hired:

  1. Polish your online image.

Almost always, hiring managers will do a Google search on their prospective employees. You want to make sure that what comes up is a serious candidate in their eyes.

  1. Prepare a custom resume.

Make sure your resume fits the role that you are applying for. You can start by creating a ‘master resume’ where you have all your work experience, certifications and skills lined up. Whenever you are applying for a job, tweak it a little to fit the position you want.

  1. Be ready for the toughest questions.

What’s your biggest weakness? This question is one of the toughest interview questions. You don’t want to come across as dishonest, pompous, or out of touch, so be truthful and say what you are not so good at. After stating your weakness, state ways on how you manage it and state that you are eager to improve.
